I've killed my HD? (TP R51e)

#1 Post by chokr » Sat Sep 14, 2013 9:58 am

I have a ThinkPad R51e and while I was using atop my bed, I fell asleep and let the notebook fall. Since then, it gives me the error of 0200: Failure Fixed Disk 1 and I can't see it on the BIOS. It has fell on its corners, I've woke up with the sound of the crash. I've had somebody fix the motherboard but it still doesn't boot up. Do I need to buy a new HD? And if so, where I can find a good and trustworthy store here in Brazil?

I know your post is several months old, put perhaps you will receive an email notification. Did you ever get your problem solved?
Maintning and upgrading a few aT4x/R5x on the cheap! :) They are truck mounted in my landscape company. I have some PCs and Android devices as well.

Sort of. Looks like I'll (really) have to buy a new HD.
