560/560X display/mobo interchange

#1 Post by Ereinion » Mon Sep 16, 2013 6:07 am

Hello to All!
I had 2.5 (actually 3.5 - one is fully working) 560 series ThinkPad, mostly in parts and I want to make at least one of them to be working.
I have non-letter-560 133MHz mobo and bottom part (working - I've tested).
I have two 560X mobos and bottom parts with dead VRM daugher card.
And I have two 560X top parts with LCDs and all cables. Connectors fits to 560 mobo, but when I connect it to 560 mobo, it doesn't start.

So what is the question - were can be the incompatibility - invertors, LCDs, cables?
Thanks for thinking on my problem!

Your best chance is to check the Hardware Maintenance Manual to see which parts are common between the two models.
