Trackpoint problems on 600x

#1 Post by mp4 » Wed May 11, 2005 9:09 pm

recently, i have been having trackpoint problems with my ibm 600x, it jumps between walls and gets stuck. Its impossible to use now and so i decided to buy a keyboard off ebay. Exact same thing happens with it, could it be something with the motherboard, or do i just have 2 bad keyboards? Also i dont believe it is software as i have tried booting both windows and different distros of linux.

I will try this as soon as i buy a smaller soldering iron. Do i have to soldier them all, it looks like 3 of them are possibly broken to me. Thanks

I saw your excelent pix when I searched on trackpoint problems. A good friend is visiting who has similar problems. It appears the four trackpoinjt screws ar locktited. Is that the case? Did you free them with heat?
