Hello everybody
This is my first comtribution to this board , but , i always have thinkpad since years , and always considering that a laptop should be a thinkpad or nothing....
I've got a T60 , when i connect the power cord , the main power led is green... (i remove the battery , it.s dead) when i press on the start buttom , the led turn off and nothing happen!!!!
The power adaptator is ok and work fine on my T61.
What do you think about that????
Thank a lot for your replies!!!!

My T60 won't start
Re: My T60 won't start
I have not found a real solution to this, but if it's the same you will need an operational battery. On mine if I try to start it with the power cord attached (boot or wake) all the lights go out and I have to remove the battery and cord to get it to reset. Then install battery, make sure power cord is removed and fire it up, works fine, sometimes it does a little "I'm gonna fail then auto restart"; but it always boots. I've been doing this now for a couple years, not a huge inconvenience unless I try to do both at the same time and hit the start button too soon. Maybe an answer will be found, there's a couple similar issues I've found on this forum, no answer that I'm aware of yet.

Remove battery and charger.
Press and hold down the Power button for 15 seconds (=hard reset).
Attach only charger and see if it boots.
If so, switch off, leave charger in, attach battery and see if it boots.
If so, fine.
If not, probably a bad battery.

Re: My T60 won't start
I had the same issue in the past (2007-QPG - C2D7200 + ATI X1400). And the bad thing is - the mainboard is bad.
I have probed to replace some devices (or boot without them) - WiFi, CD, Screen, modem, cooling system, harddrive, RAM, battery - no luck. I have flashed (and reflashed) new bios - no luck.
Then i have changed mainboard (all other components and softwere are not changed in this test) with T60p V5250 and all become OK (only i have to reinstall ATI drivers).

Thanks to every body for your replies
I've tried a Hard reset .. but no boot!!
So I think it's the mainboard.
Actually bye bye my old T60 , i've bought a recent X201
Thanks a lot
