I have set my voltages at reduced speed, 600 MHz, to 0.7v and at full throttle to 1.036v. Is there any particular reason for using time to setup and test all the in-between speeds?
95 % of the time the laptop is idling at 600 MHz, and when it's loaded CPU usage/speed is at 100 %.

As far as I have tested, 1.036 was a bit too low, errors and crashes are bound to happen in the near future. If not so obvious, take extra care when you do money related work, wouldn't want a a bunch of bits to change their value all of a sudden.Esben wrote:I have set my voltages at reduced speed, 600 MHz, to 0.7v and at full throttle to 1.036v. And the particular reason is, that most of the time the actual speed IS in those mid-ranges, it spends more time there than actually 1.8GHz when you do something mildly power-needy. And with NHC, those mid-ranges do NOT automatically get set, so 1.6GHz has a higher voltage rating than 1.8GH that way.

Oh sorry i only schemed through the first page quickly. I didn't know the fact that the hyperlink was indeed NHC. Duh! my fault! I thought it was a different thing.KristianJ wrote:This thread is about NHC - just that it had its bulk of posting when it was called Centrino Hardware Control.jlingo wrote:Have you guys tried notebook Hardware Control?

I'm using it with Vista SP1 RC1, but it doesn't seem to be compatible thoroughly. I was experiencing slowdown with NHC, especially in the graphic department. The refresh rate seems a lot slower. I could feel whenever I minimize or maximize menu, slow performance. I had to exit and restart NHC again. It feels like there is a memory leak somewhere. I no longer use it until the problem resolved, because performance IMO is top priority.KristianJ wrote:That's okay - I've done similar beforeAnd FYI, I use it as well, not usually to undervolt, but simply to monitor the temperatures and system battery life. It's IMO an essential little app.

just fyi (not trying to moderate
) there's a newer thread on NHC in another section of the board: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=28482
Moved to Chrome OS, so... SK-8855 USB Keyboard
Thanks for the info. it's very helpful for busy person like me.eyestrain wrote:just fyi (not trying to moderate) there's a newer thread on NHC in another section of the board: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=28482
