IPS or not ? How to recognize according s/n ?

Hello, I'm new here.
I'm looking for new laptop for me and I decided to buy x230. For me the best option is online shopping. I would like to know how to recognize that particular model has IPS or not according series number. It's exist any document which describe sth like that ? For example I've got 2 models :
- x230 2306-3A8
- x230 2306-2AU
And I have no idea which for this two is IPS or not.

Models that end in U are typically preconfigured models, which appear in the Tabook.pdf.

There it will say "Premium screen" if it's IPS, and won't say it if it isn't.

About the other models - it's often very difficult to find out.

I'll second that it can sometimes be difficult to find out purely from the model number, I encountered this multiple times searching for a X230 on ebay. For peace of mind I'd recommend checking with whoever you're buying from, you'll definitely want the IPS.
