Zero percent (0%) slice akku

#1 Post by hringriin » Sun Oct 13, 2013 9:48 am

Hello there!

I have a question according to the slice akku.

If I run the x230t with the built in 6-cell akku and the slice akku, the slice akku will run low at first. Fine, but my gauge tells me it runs down to 0% ?! As far as I know an exhausted battery, even if it is lithium-polymer in this case, is not good.

Is there any mechanism that prevents the slice akku from damage or am I supposed to detach it at a certain percentage?

That has always been the problem with multiple batteries: it drains the most expensive one first to an unhealthy low (0%). Then a 50 cycles later your battery is practically death....

Unless they update that power manager with a way to pick discharge order yourself and set proper thresholds, I'm holding off on buying a Slice battery for my W520.

But there is a button on the side that attaches to the laptop that you can use to turn it off, right?
