Power on bootup lock

#1 Post by hderr » Thu May 12, 2005 3:24 pm

I'm trying to save a ThinkPad 365xd Type 2625 6E3 running windows 95 from becoming an anchor. As such I wish to use it to display rotating powerpoint presentations 24/7 in a display case here at the college.

My question is: is there a way set the configuration so that in the event of a power failure or other off power situation, the computer will automatically reboot?

Thanks,

Henry

I don't THINK there's a way to do that with just the machine as-is. If you know someone good with electronics, you could have them do a little trick with a relay and a DC adapter, solder it to the lid switch, and theoretically the system would go into suspend whenever the power went out. . .then wake up whenever it came back on. But you'd also have to have a good battery for the machine.

Maybe someone else has a better idea.
