Battery Help...

#1 Post by vliou » Thu May 12, 2005 9:07 pm

Hello,

I am hoping someone will be able to help me out on this, but this is really bugging me. I'm a really battery intensive person, and I spent the majority of my money on batteries because I work in a location where there are very few outlets. I have two 48whr batteries, and one ultrabay slim, and one more extended batt. Don't worry, I didn't buy them from IBM because I would get seriously ripped off. My question is this.

When I put in the ultrabay slim battery to my T42, and I have a standard batt in the machine, the machine ALWAYS uses the ultrabay slim battery FIRST. This is most annoying because i want it to use the standard first, then the ultrabay slim battery as a last-resort measure. The logic is that I can then swap out the standard battery...if the system uses the ultrabay one first, I can't swap out batteries without turning the system off. Also, the ultrabay slim battery I HAD to buy from IBM because nobody makes them, and they are MOST expensive....

Thanks for any help.

No choice.

I just leave the Ultrabay battery out. Then when I get the "change battery" beep, I put in the Ultrabay battery and then swap to my spare.

A pain.

Indeed. That is a possibility. I'm just hoping that one of the geniuses here on the forum have a better way so that we can select battery priority...hehe.
