Screen glitches and T43 frozen
Screen glitches and T43 frozen
Today my computer (T43 1871-CTO) did something strange: if I move it, it freezes and the screen becames totally scrambled. So I have to reboot and during the POST I moved PC, so it freezes and starts beeping continuously.
I think the GPU starts failing/unsoldering, am I wrong? If yes, are anyone of you selling a T43 mainboard at a resonably price?
You're my last hope.

Re: Screen glitches and T43 frozen
Your T43 has an Intel integrated graphics option, so I don't think that it's desoldering from the rest of the board, but it seems like something is failing - big time - nevertheless...
You may want to post a WTB (want to buy) ad in the forum's Marketplace.
Good luck.

Re: Screen glitches and T43 frozen
I posted a WTB and someone (RealBlackStuff) told me I can put a R52 mainboard in my T43. Is there any differences to keep in mind between the two boards?

Re: Screen glitches and T43 frozen
About the only difference is most of the R52 boards have a firewire port that your T43 doesn't have an opening for, but it's just a plug in daughter card so there is no problem leaving it out.
Collection = T500 - R400 - X300 - X200 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - T61 (14.1" SXGA+) - T60 (15" SXGA+) - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P - 600E
R: Screen glitches and T43 frozen
Today I took a look on ebay and I saw a lot of 26xx mainboard for T43. Is that a clever buying (I know, I should change the heatsink)? Or I should buy an intel graphic mainboard for some good reason (eg temperature/battery lifetime/cosmic convergence)?
PS: Actually my battery has a lifetime of 180 - 200 mins.
