Bluetooth/Modem Combo card functionality!!! HERE

#1 Post by $uperman » Fri May 13, 2005 8:28 pm

I just got this card:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... RK:MEWN:IT

for my T41 2373-7FU and even thugh bluetooth works fine the modem doesn't. It says "cannot open port"

Any ideas how to fix it? Which drivers to use?

Have you reconnected the modem cable to the combo card?

This is the driver you need.

For BMDC200, please do not use the modem driver by XP. You need install IBM integrated 56K modem driver by hand. download from ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pccbbs/mo ... md1iwi.exe

Does it say which port? And when does this message show up?

No it doesn't say which port. It shows up when I either try to run a doagnostic or actually dial using the modem.

- Does it show your modem with the port in use in the list of device under windows device manager?

- If yes, that IRQ that port is using might be in shared by another port/application (let's say bluetooth).

- Are you also running other applications that uses your modem ports, like Fax Service? If the Fax service in Windows is running, you cannot run any diagnostic or hyperterminal.
