T60 Screen doesn't work, no indicator lights either
Hi guys, so here's the story
My friend gave me a laptop screen the same size as my T60, so we took my T60 and that laptop screen apart to see if the LCD Screen its self would work in mine or not. After we tried it once, I put my T60 Screen back together And it didn't work, the screen didn't work and no indicator lights when I plug in the power supply.
Help!!!

Re: T60 Screen doesn't work, no indicator lights either
Just guessing, of course, but sounds to me like the inverter is not connected to the ribbon cable. It's fairly easy to knock it loose without even knowing it, when swapping LCD panels around.
Collection = T500 - R400 - X300 - X200 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - T61 (14.1" SXGA+) - T60 (15" SXGA+) - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P - 600E

Re: T60 Screen doesn't work, no indicator lights either
We need more information if we're going to have any chance of helping. Like which screen doesn't work, your original one or the one from the friend. Does the CCFL light up, or not? Is an image displayed on screen, even without the back-light? Answers to those questions, and any other details you can give, can help determine which of the four connections are at fault. Or which fuses or motherboard circuits have been burned out.HenryJia wrote:the screen didn't work and no indicator lights when I plug in the power supply.

Re: T60 Screen doesn't work, no indicator lights either
When you took everything apart and did not disconnect the battery and power supply, then you've probably blown a fuse somewhere most likely the inverter board.
You can tell if it's the inverter. When you first turn on the laptop you could still see the "Thinkpad" logo as it is doing the BIOS start up test. However this will be extremely dim and difficult to see.

I don't understand if your thinkpad can start and boot OS?
First of all try to connect extrnal monitor. If Rhinkpad can boot up, but external monitor is black (no image) you can try Fn+F7 to switch monitors. If you can see something on external monitor it is a good sign. Try enable WLAN, WWAN or BlueTooth. If you can see lights of WWAN/ WLAN/ BT - Invertor is connected, but something is not going to it.
I have one story. When i experimented with bluetooth module i have blown F8 fuse. It is for 5Volt 0.5A line for usb bluetooth and for invertor low voltage schematics. When i find this i have shorten parts of fuse and it works (invertor and idicators) ok.
See my post on my local forum. There is picture and schematics part for F8. In picture i have desoldered F8 from donor (bad) mainboard, but on my board i have shorten F8 without changing it.
