VLK and XP Tablet

#1 Post by jronald » Wed Dec 11, 2013 5:33 pm

If I had a good VLK, would it activate a fresh install of XP Tablet?

Thanks
Ron

You need a key for XP Tablet Edition. Most VLKs were only for XP Pro and you needed a Windows XP Pro Corporate install disc (the VLK wouldn't work if you used an OEM or retail disc).

So I would say that the answer to your question is no.

If you use the IBM/Lenovo recovery discs of XP-Tablet on an X41 Tablet, you won't need a VLK key.

I have a copy of XP Tablet. Was planning on putting it on a recently acquired X60t

If it's a Lenovo-issued set, it will work just fine, no activation required.

If not, you might have to call M$ and use the COA from the X60T...

Good luck.

To use a VLK license, you need VLK install media.

I happen to have a VLK install media set for XP Tablet Edition, and a license.

But for you, you need the Lenovo recovery set.
