Correct T43 Docking Station

#1 Post by herlihyboy » Sat Dec 14, 2013 7:24 am

Hopefully this is a very simple question...

I'm looking to buy a docking station for my T43 2055, but it looks like there are a variety of models. What's the best way to make sure I get one that's compatible with my laptop?

TIA,

Ryan

Thanks!

So, the ones I am looking at show the model 2878, which is on the site you sent. However, they also post model / part number like "62P4551", which I don't see on the site you sent. I see a number like "08N1584". However, the auction says it fits T-43. Is this the wrong dock, then? Just wanting to make sure I don't get the wrong one. Not sure the difference between option part number, FRU part number, etc.

What can add to the confusion is that most ThinkPad parts and accessories have three numbers: P/N = Order Part Number, FRU P/N = Field Replacement Unit part number, and a Type Number.
Collection = T500 - R400 - X300 - X200 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - T61 (14.1" SXGA+) - T60 (15" SXGA+) - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P - 600E

There is no T43 with a model number of 2055, so you may want to re-visit the bottom of the laptop for a full 7-character model number, which will start in either 187* or 26**.

Do bear in mind that the machines with Intel integrated graphics (187*) do not offer DVI through the dock.

Happy shopping.
