This Processor + T60 ?
Would this work in the T60 (2007) socket?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131072245496?ss ... 1497.l2649
The seller had in his ad that it is "Socket Type: Socket 479, Socket P, Socket 478/N"
and repeatedly describes this as a "Socket P" processor. It is apparently a Core 2 Duo T7200.
Is the seller mistaken about this being a socket P, and will this work in a T60?
Thanks in advance!

T7200/T7400/T7600 will all work.

Thanks RBS, as you advised, I replaced the core duo with the core 2 duo T7200, reassembled, and the BIOS as well as Win 7 OS that I subsequently installed report the new T7200 processor as working properly.RealBlackStuff wrote:T7200/T7400/T7600 will all work.

I reinstalled the same original fan assembly that was originally installed in the T2400 processor T60 (2007) and have not noticed any issue so far. Is it indicated to swap in a different fan along with the core 2 duo processor?
If so, and at the risk of sounding careless, is there really a true need to install a bigger fan if you are not using this laptop for gaming or intensive graphics? thanks again.

ok, thanks, This machine was originally and still is ATI graphics, so it looks like the stock fan should be fine based on that thread.RealBlackStuff wrote:Fan differences are perfectly explained here: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=100535
I Installed the core temp widget in win7 and it does not get above a range of 45-54 Celsius in normal web browsing so that seems to confirm the advice. thanks again
