T60 touchpad

#1 Post by llamov » Mon Dec 23, 2013 1:00 pm

I recently bought a used T60 to replace one with a defective screen. I'm going to replace the screen on my old one, but until I do I'll replace the newer one.

The newer one, however, has an issue which I find really annoying. That's to say, the touchpad has a hair trigger. Sometimes merely scrolling over a link, or, heaven forbid, an ad, selects it.

I went to control panel and selected "mouse properties" but in Windows XP there's no way to control pad sensitivity that I can see.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Maybe you need to install the UltraNav driver from Lenovo. It allows much more adjustment than the generic Windows driver.
Collection = T500 - R400 - X300 - X200 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - T61 (14.1" SXGA+) - T60 (15" SXGA+) - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P - 600E

If you have any item listed in Control Panel -> Add/Remove that begins with "Java...", uninstall it.

Then install MalwareBytes and run it to see how much malware needs to be removed.

"Mouse-over" or "drive-by" events are often triggered by a malware infection which was installed because of the security holes within the various releases of Java.
