WTB: Palmrest for R500, PATA laptop HDD
The title pretty much says it all, but let me get into a little bit more of a detail. I'm looking for:
a) 15.4" Palmrest for R500, with or without FPR, good or better condition.
b) PATA laptop hard disk drive, 5400rpm or better, size not really important, no errors
PM or email me directly to tataslonATaol.com

Re: WTB: palmrests for 15" T60 (4:3), R500 and X24

C'mon, ladies and gents, someone has to have some of this stuff sitting somewhere and not doing much of anything...

Re: WTB: palmrests for 15" T60 (4:3), R500 and X24
George: A while ago I was looking for the same, and had (like you, now!) also to search for quite some time before finding these (found them at a Chinese eBay'er), so they seem to be fairly rare?!ajkula66 wrote:...b) Palmrest for 15" (4:3) T60/p, with or without FPR, very good to excellent condition.
Although you know for sure, maybe prospective sellers would be aided by knowing the FRU's for the parts usable, so quoting WTB: palm rest for T60P these are the options that I know of:
Palm rest assembly (without fingerprint reader 15.0 inch LCD); FRU = 41V9907 (alternatively 42W3138, I *think*?)
Palm rest assembly (with fingerprint reader 15.0 inch LCD); FRU = 42W3011 ("replaces 41V9908")
Ref.: System service parts - ThinkPad T60, T60p standard screen (w/4:3 format LCD's). I just had a look at both eBay and Taobao, but no luck with any of these part-number...
Good luck hunting!

Re: WTB: Palmrests for 15" T60 (4:3), R500 and X24
I too have had a hard time finding plastics for 15" T60. There used to be new high quality knock-offs coming out of china, but I guess they stopped making them. I even had one of the secretaries at a chinese software company I do work for looking for me, she found some sellers that had "reprocessed" parts that they claimed were as good as new, but it sounded a bit risky with the cost of shipping and without seeing them first. The last set of plastics I had to buy a whole laptop to source.
I figure in time the chinese will tool up and start making them again.

41V9907 - 15" palmrest without fingerprint reader, with IBM logo
42W3011 - 15" palmrest with FPR, with IBM logo
42W3139 - 15" palmrest with FPR, with Thinkpad logo
The above are the official numbers, BUT both logos are the same size and can be interchanged without any problems.

Re: WTB: Palmrest for R500, PATA laptop HDD, PCMCIA wi-fi
George, I have a brand new D-link wifi N card (pcmcia) that's still in the original box, feel free to make an offer. I also have a couple used wifi G cards around here somewhere.
