Hey Chris:

Seeking a restore disc set for IBM ThinkPad R31 2656

I am in western canada

Costs involved? Do you have original 2002 discs with xp pro or the newer mid 2000s disks?

Hello oolloo,

The two disks I have are dated May 2002. Windows XP Pro English

Shipping via USPS 1st Class mail to Chilliwack, BC, Canada, V2P is roughly $10 so how about $30 total (disks + shipping)?

Private message me if you are interested.

Thanks,
Chris

Thanks for the bump
I would like a ThinkPad recovery set that contains XP; I have a T500, but T61 will do fine if i386 folder can be accessed

789,

I am not sure you could access the i386 folder from these CDs. The disks are not like a regular Windows Installation CD where you can just copy off the files you need. I checked the first two CDs and everything looks like compressed image files.

Thanks,
Chris

Thanks for your response

Just for the fun of it I would have liked a recovery dvd; after the dvd re-installs XP, there is i386 directory on the hard-drive; that can be copied and used for future installation (on Lenovo machines) pre-activated --- at least that is what my Toshiba DVD does on Toshiba machines

Hmm, I noticed that some say 32 bit, but none say 64. I wouldn't automatically assume that all are 64 bit by default (there are too many XP sets to assume that), but are we meant to?

For instance, is the final set (T61, Vista Ultimate) 32 or 64 bit?

Radioguy,

Good catch. I checked the actual DVD for set 46 and it is 32-bit.

Thanks,
Chris
