T400 Ultrabay latch jammed/stuck

Hi Everyone

Bought a 2nd hand T400 a few days ago only to find the Ultrabay latch is jammed solid and I cannot get the CD-RW drive out. (I presume why it was being sold duh !)

I have leafed through the service manual (PDF Download from Lenovo site) cannot see any reference to disasembling or servcing the latch mechanism - its just not mentionned.

The drive itself works fine, and I cannot se any other issues round the machine (no rattling) and none of the screws look like they have been tampered with

Does anyone know how to release or get to it ?? The manual isnt c lear if you can take off part of the case above it and actually get to it.

There's a screw on the bottom of the laptop near the latch-unlocker, that holds the latch in place.
This screw is quite often not installed at all, but yours might be.
