Sold: Clevo D900T, working
I know this might be an odd sight in the Thinkpad Forums, but I figure I'd give you guys the rare opportunity to have one of these that works as good as it does.
This is a Clevo D900T Porta-note laptop computer. Probably the most notable thing to say about it that should be said: It may be a laptop, but it isn't that mobile. The dimensions according to the service manual is: 397mm (w) * 298mm (d) * 49.5mm (h) 5.80+3% kg with Battery. To those who don't want to google the conversion, that's about 12 pounds(lbs) in weight, and it's 15.6 inches wide, 11.7 inches front to back, and just about 2 inches thick.
It's a true "desktop-replacement", as in it has an actual Desktop processor. It's also got a separable standard in video card module, and 4 RAM bays(laptop RAM though. heh. Don't get too crazy.) This one in particular is a loaded one, here are the specs:
-Intel Pentium 4 670 3.8 GHz with Hyperthreading, LGA 775 Prescott Core
-2 GB DDR2 RAM
-NVIDIA GeForce Go7800 GTX
-No HDD, but has two SATA HDD bays, capable of RAID 0/1
-2 DVD-RW CD drives. Yes, two.
-1MP BisonCam Webcam
-17.1" 16:10 WUXGA 1920x1200 LG display, very bright with pretty nice viewing angles
-Intel 2915ABG Wi-Fi card
Other notable features of this computer is a AverMedia TV Tuner card with normal composite video in(Yellow TV video port) and S-Video in, Gigabit Ethernet port, 56k Modem, S-Video Out and DVI-out, a Parallel SCSI port, Serial COM port, 2 Firewire(IEEE 1394) small ports, a full set of audio ports(Line Out, Line In, Microphone, S-PDIF Digital out, 4 USB 2.0 ports(notable fun fact: They're upside down from standard and all clustered at the back left corner), Fast Infrared and a single PCMCIA card slot.
I've got this page down as a reference for the laptop: http://clevo.wikia.com/wiki/D900T
But some additional information: This laptop has 4 fans, and 4 speakers developed by SRS WOW surround sound, and it's probably the best sound system I've ever heard from a mobile machine. Yes, I've heard countless laptops and this even beats a Toshiba Qosmio, ASUS ROG, Dell XPS, and even an A31. It's beautifully room-filling and there's no distortion even at loud volumes, and it gets loud. It also has a subwoofer, and a legitimate one, not just a slightly bigger speaker with "subwoofer" etched around it. The laptop also has a feature that allows you to play CDs from the DVD drives even when the machine is powered off, by pressing a power button on the "DJ deck" at the front panel, and it runs a sort of CD player that can run off the battery.
Condition:
This particular unit shows manufacturing stickers labeled "JAN 06", so it's one of the later D900Ts. It shows signs of very little or almost no use, on the outside it shows considerable scuffing especially on the back... but the bottom and the inside is nearly brand new with the exception of some marks. The video card has been stress tested and is one of the few cards I've come across that shows no signs of artifacting or poor functionality of any sort, and it's also a later model Go7800 that is a very desired upgrade for this laptop. All cooling parts mount properly and work brilliantly, making this an "indefinitely reliable" D900T, meaning you can use it every day and it will work brilliantly. The battery DOES hold a charge as it is right now, but don't expect to go anymore than an hour on the battery.
This laptop is directly related to the Alienware Area-51 M7700(pretty much is the same laptop except this one isn't plastered with alien badging and a flashy lid), one of the laptops that pretty much made Alienware, but it is a boutique-brand laptop(M-Tech sticker shown on top). These tend to be nicer, likely because it wasn't bought by a gamer who overclocked it and abused it daily, but instead by a graphics artist, student, or designer who used it for CAD and other purposes. I like to see the D900T in the mobile computing world as the Thinkpadder sees the A31, it's an outrageously heavily equipped laptop with brilliant hardware and capabilities. A great balance between new and old, featuring enough power to be usable today but old-enough hardware to make some legacy-hardware users happy. This particular D900T is a shining gem in the large dump-pile of off-brand and Alienware D900Ts that I part out, and I'm just curious to see if anyone on here would like to have it.
I'm asking for $300 shipped, it will have no Hard Drives installed. A charger will be included. I will also include CDs of the drivers for XP, I have gotten Win 7 to work but it's very difficult to get some features-such as the sound to work. XP or 7, you will need to load a special HDD driver in the setup for the Windows setup disk to recognize the HDD. If you have any questions about the computer, feel free to post on here and ask regardless of whether or not you're interested. But if you are remotely interested, please PM me.

I've got to give it to you: very rarely does anyone in this forum post for sale TWO machines that I might be interested in.
Can't afford the W700, but this one is tickling my fancy and then some. I have two basic questions, though:
a) Any idea on what the maximum RAM is?
b) What's the screen condition? These develop pressure marks very easily from my limited recollection...
TIA

Gonna have to cut down and save up for my move.
I envy your collection, I hope they go for a good home!

Spring cleaning Medessec?![]()
Heh. Well, my tastes these past few months have been rather ambitious, but as with all fun, it must be short-lived. Glad to see I've got a selection that suits you!I've got to give it to you: very rarely does anyone in this forum post for sale TWO machines that I might be interested in.
It's got a similar issue as the T60 where going above 3GB of RAM will be hit n' miss, the BIOS will pick it up to 4GB but the OS won't be able to address all of it.a) Any idea on what the maximum RAM is?
Glancing at it now, I don't think I see any pressure marks or discolored blushes on the screen at all. No dead pixels or lines either. Since you're this interested though-I think I'll take some pics over the next few hours and see if I can post them by tonight. What's the screen condition? These develop pressure marks very easily from my limited recollection...

Aye, I'm getting rid of a bunch of clothes, "project" ThinkPads that are gonna be scrapped, and various 2000 era desktops I've collected as payments for small PC problems...
Got any "junk" Model M keyboards?

Hah! I wish. I usually don't get stuff that old, and even if I did, my programmer classmates actually DO have taste, believe it or not, and would've nabbed them off me.Got any "junk" Model M keyboards?

Holy! Now I see why that thing is barely considered a laptop.
Man those four fans, looks like they slapped them on wherever they could. And a subwoofer!?
That thing is beasty! Best of luck with the sale.
Pretty wicked machine.
