Thinkpad X220 and Gemalto PC Express Card

#1 Post by petko8680 » Wed Jan 22, 2014 3:40 pm

Hi all,
it's been long since my last visit here. I got an AVerMedia PC Express card to watch TV on my x220, but noticed( never actually paid attention) that my PC Express slot is "occupied" by a Gemalto PC Express Card Reader/Writer(think same one like that one http://www.amazon.com/Gemalto-Express-R ... B001S45KN4.
My question is is it save to remove that Gemalto card and put the AverMedia TV one and what does basically that gemalto card do, as It is not very clear to me.

PS do all x220 come with that Gemalto card installed?

Never heard of this device. It's definitely not a standard thing on X220. If it's just a removable ExpressCard, then remove it...

Yes, you can just remove Expresscards; just like USB stuff.
