They are just selling the low-end "branch" of their severs, the other ones are still going to belong to IBM.

Lemme guess, they are going to market a consumer multimedia server as a cutting edge enterprise mainframe (IBM AS/400 style)?

Well.. before Lenovo bougth IBMs Thinkpads, the sales was horrible. IBM was only loosing money. Now the thinkpad line is actually making money.

It migth be the same case here...!

Win-Win for both I think. IBM is getting rid of another "commodity" business part with slim margins for a nice price, and for Lenovo it is a chance to become one of the big server vendors. The x-Server line also fits to the design of Lenovos own ThinkServer´s.
