Could someone explain the X200 to me?

#1 Post by Olwe » Sun Feb 02, 2014 3:40 pm

I'd like a small thinkpad a bit bigger than the S10 Ideapad. Could someone explain the X200 to me? It seems like there are different configurations, but I can't seem to find these details. I see the X200 with its screen practically detached. Do they all do this?

X200 is available in a couple variations: X200, X200s and X200 Tablet. The X200 and X200s really look the same; a normal 12" widescreen laptop. The Tablet is what you might be looking at if the screen is twisted or folded back against the keyboard.

Download a copy of the withdrawn Thinkpads here: http://www.lenovo.com/psref/pdf/ltwbook.pdf (large file: ~40MB)

There's some photos of the X200 series systems, along with the specs of selected configurations.

If what you mean by "bigger" is that you want more "real-estate" on the screen, then pay attention to the X200s screens -- all are 16x10 (vs. the current trend of 16x9), but some X200s models (and only X200s models) have the higher resolution of WXGA+, i.e., 1440x900 resolution, albeit that also means no camera and no internal WWAN antennas (but antennas can be added).
