Can you ID these Thinkpads?
I've stacked these Thinkpads vertically and linked an image below. I'd like to see how precisely you guys can ID each of the Thinkpads in the stack.
http://www.medessec.info/m/TPC01/IMG_1275.JPG
Some are pretty blatantly obvious, but some should be a slight challenge.

Guess we can add stackable to the feature list for Thinkpads.
@OP: Nope. No clue what they are.

Re: Can you ID these Thinkpads?
What's with the Christmas lights still hanging there...
No clue on #2 and 3 from the top.
The top one is 701C I guess.
The bottom is W70*, then a G4x, then an A31p on it.
Who's next?

Re: Can you ID these Thinkpads?
Based on your signature this is my guess: 701C, 760, 770, T30, G41, A31p, T43p, T60p, Z61p, X60 SXGA+, W700ds
Just don't ask me which order. When the wife ordered you to put up the Christmas lights, I think she meant outside?
Mind you it is warmer and no ladder to deal with where you have it now.

Re: Can you ID these Thinkpads?
The 2nd from the top must be a 380. I have my 380ED stacked with that same side peeking out, so I see the exact same view when I look to my left.
I also recognize another oddball from my stack of Thinkpads here; a G40. 2nd from the bottom in your stack. Maybe the G41 looked the same?
5th from bottom seems to be a T4x, while the 4th, 6th and 7th reminds me of T60s. But I don't have any T61s, so don't know how they look. They might look similar.

Re: Can you ID these Thinkpads?
I think no one else is going to post, so I have an answer reference for those who gave it a shot and are curious at how they did.
http://www.medessec.info/m/TIDanswer.jpg
The above link and the rest of the text in this post spoils the answer, so if you're playing, be aware of that.
The yellow circles highlight important tells that pinpoint the exact model. For example, the very bottom one on the G41- the circle highlights a vent on the left side. In the G40 and G41s without dedicated graphics, this normally houses the Floppy Drive bay. But in G41s with the Go5200 GeForce, the Floppy Drive is removed in favor of that. This option is only on the G41.
The other yellow circle highlights a barely visible feature- there is a stylized notch in the HDD door, this is a feature that distinguishes the 4:3 T61 14" from the T60 14". The T61's lid also sweeps over the base sides more (it is wider).
Most of you guys got pretty close, but yeah my signature kinda gave a lot of it away.

) but yes, due to school and limited resources(our lights kept getting dead bulbs and it's those old ones that are wired so a huge chunk doesn't work if one bulb is out) we decided to decorate the inside a bit.
And absolutely, nothing beats the good warmth of the inside.

Re: Can you ID these Thinkpads?
The one under the X60T/Ultrabase looks like a T61, not T60. At least the lid is that of a T61. The lack of screw spots and antenna grille is a giveaway.

Agh! Typo... wow, that's embarrassing. But that's extremely well spotted, I'll have to give that to you dr_st!
I'll fix it at some point today in the picture.

Re: Can you ID these Thinkpads?
Interesting, I had no idea. I didn't realize before now that my G40 has a floppy drive where your G41 has a vent. Does the GPU and it's heatsink physically occupy that space inside, or is it just a duct to achieve better airflow?Medessec wrote: For example, the very bottom one on the G41- the circle highlights a vent on the left side. Re: Can you ID these Thinkpads?
Yep, the GPU physically occupies the space that the Floppy Drive normally sits in. You lose the Floppy Drive and gain a dedicated GPU. The vent on the side is just an open-air vent, there isn't a fan to cool the GPU, just an oddly shaped aluminum heatsink.Does the GPU and it's heatsink physically occupy that space inside, or is it just a duct to achieve better airflow?
By today's standards, the Intel 82845G integrated is beyond dismal... but the GeForce Go5200 is also equally bad. It may be a dedicated GPU, but it's so unbelievably old, and low-end. It only offers marginally better web-browsing and desktop performance than the 82845G... IMO it's not a just cause to lose the Floppy Drive.
