I acquired an Intel 5100agn wireless card, and installed in the WWAN slot of my T61 frankenpad, alongside with the Intel 6205 in the WLAN slot. Then, when I booted Windows 7 it crashed promptly.
Either card work well alone in their respective slots, and the 5100 works fine in the WLAN slot too. However when both are installed, Windows 7 always BSOD, sometimes just after boot, sometimes when I try to use the 5100 in any way. The messages differ: I've got IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, BAD_POOL_CALLER, and others, which are all quite typical to driver problems. This is with the latest driver from Intel.
Although I haven't tested as extensively, both cards seem to operate together just fine in Arch Linux.
Has anyone had similar experiences?
Intel 6205 + Intel 5100 = BSOD?

Putting two wifi cards in, is asking for problems.
Why would anybody want two wifi cards in the first place, bragging rights?
If you MUST have two cards, throw out that 6205 and replace it with at least a 6200, the 6205 model has problems.
The 5100 is good for up/down speeds of 150/300 Mbps, while the 6200 is good for 300/300 Mbps.

For connecting to two different wireless networks at the same time?RealBlackStuff wrote:Why would anybody want two wifi cards in the first place, bragging rights?
For connecting to one wireless network and creating an AP on a different frequency band?
I have a USB-based RT3070 wireless card in the WWAN slot of my X60t, and have used it in both situations described above.
