Issues with SXGA+ panel in T43

#1 Post by rms » Thu Feb 13, 2014 3:43 pm

so i went and bought a LTN141P4-L02 panel to replace the horrid XGA screen on my t43 after a quick google brought up a post on here saying it was compatible, problem is it doesnt seem to work at all. i get backlight, but no picture, other than a few lines going down the screen, and after a little while the screen starts to glow white from the sides, and slowly get whiter in the center (i didnt let it stay like that for long). someone on another forum i use said that its probably the cable, apparently the SXGA+ panels have a different pinout and therefore need a different connector, but after ordering one i still have the same issue.

im not sure where to go from here, other than sending back the panel (which i really dont want to do, i really like the idea of a high res panel in my t43), anyone here to lend me a hand with this one?

The big question here is: does your T43 have ATI graphics?
If not, SXGA+ does NOT work.
The Intel graphics can only handle XGA (exception: 15" R52/Intel can handle SXGA+, but the 15" T43/Intel can not!)

Most likely the case with your laptop... If you're not sure, please post the Type No. of your laptop(found on the bottom) on here, we can determine if you have an Intel gfx board or not. You can try plugging in an external monitor... correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the computer will post to it-even if it's not capable of posting to a LCD panel that is currently installed.

I have motherboards I can sell if you need an ATI motherboard. You will also need an uprated cooler.
Trying my hardest to collect Thinkpads, but college and being broke kinda gets in the way. However...
