one more Q

#1 Post by Jungsta » Mon May 16, 2005 3:59 pm

Sorry guys for the questions, but do you see what looks almost like a watermark or discoloration around the grey portion of the upper right hand side (on the toolbar) when you open up internet explorer or any other window on your laptop screen? It is especially conspicous when you look up at the screen. Its weird because even if i drag the window somehwere else on my desktop, it is still there. I do not see this discoloration on my desktop monitor.

open the display setting -properties and select 32bit colors...you have it set at lower resolution.
Current: T60 2623-D6U, Ideapad S12 (upgraded to XP Pro)
Past: T42

In my experience, very marked discoloration remains even when set at 32bit colors. Also in my experience, many T4x and X3x users do not notice this discoloration until it is pointed out to them - say by sitting the thinkpad next to a different computer with a different monitor. My experience may be atypical or based on a misunderstanding, but from all I've seen and read this marked discoloration is not based on any kind of hardware flaw or any obvious software/firmware settings.
