R60 / R61 / T6X fan comparison

Can anyone shed any light on differences and similarities of HSF / fans from R60 through R61 and T6X series?

I am looking at putting a T6x / T6xp HSF on a R60 for better cooling for some upgrades i'm looking at.

I have discovered that the 15" non-widescreen R60 uses a fan that's narrower at the fin outlets than the T61 fan
I have for comparison.

The HMM for the R60 is lumped together with R61 and it only differentiates between ATI (discrete) and integrated.

There doesn't seem to be any difference if R61 w/Nvidia or widescreen.

Although in another thread, a user reported that a T61 fan fit nicely in his R61 widescreen. Are there differences not captured
in the HMM on this issue?

I did some cursory searches on ebay to look at photos and it's difficult to determine without taking measurements.

I have thought i might cut the fins off in the area used by the mag chassis, but thought it might make sense to ask the kind
folks here for guidance before i scrap a good fan.

I really don't want to carve up the chassis on the R60, as it's perfect without even broken left corner bracing as is typical on the ones i've seen.

OK, let's get some more info here:

a) Does your R60 have discrete or integrated graphics?

b) What is prompting the need for upgrading the heatsink in the first place?
