Thinkpad Dock question (booting issues)

I have an x31, but i think this would apply to any Thinkpad that is compatible with the dock (2631). Anyways, does the thinkpad bios recognize that a Ultraport 2000 device is plugged in? In other words, can I boot off the floppy or optical drive (whichever is in the dock)?
