Guys,

Please advise what W7 (x64 or x32) is better to install on X61 with 2Gb RAM.

THanks

Up to 4GB RAM 32-bit is better (less resource-hungry).
The X61 can take up to 2x4GB RAM, in which case you'd need the 64-bit version.

Thanks!
4G*2 is too expensive, because I use this laptop as second laptop.

Glad to see you posting again, old friend... :thumbs-UP:

I've found out that 3GB in a 32-bit W7 environment is somewhat of a "sweet spot"...2GB doesn't feel quite enough, and 4GB seems like a waste.

Not to mention that it's a rather inexpensive setup as well...

As a bonus, sticking with 32 bit means you'll maintain the ability to run 16 bit code natively.

Which is super important if your work or lab has you utilizing truly ancient software... or if you just want to play Simcity.
