X41 Stylus Question

#1 Post by wjbmd48 » Fri Mar 21, 2014 12:22 pm

Is anyone aware of a good substitute for the red-tipped stylus? I'm constantly misplacing mine, and it would be nice to have a few more lying around, but at $20-30 a pop on ebay they're a bit pricey for so simple an item.

I've got a pack of the red tips, but they don't seem to work alone . .

Any ideas?

BTW, I'm running the daily build of Lubuntu 14.04 on mine, and man, does it speed things up.

Any Penabled should work.

After more than ten years of Penabled brand, Wacom changed the marketing name to "feel IT". I think this rename is stupid, I expect it will do nothing to help sales, and create plenty of confusion.

At this time, item 181309042019 seems to be the most low-budget Penabled pen. But it seems to be only four inches long (see picture in item 370563599062).

Fantastic, I cannot thank you enough.

It says on ebay, "Used Toshiba Portege M700, M750, M780 Tablet Reserve Pen Part# PA3317U-1ETC"

So works with an X41, right?

Thanks again,

Bill

All Wacom pens that start with a UP- prefix are compatible. For example, UP-801E. The PenPartner and Art Z II tablet's pens are UP-XXX pens as well. (I'm not sure about the Toshiba one)

I looked harder. I hope I found something useful.

item 151252960758 : HP EliteBook pen, several available, asking twenty USD per piece, "make offer" available.

item 171201144484 : pen for Lenovo ThinkPad X60 and up, several available, fifteen USD per piece, seller might be a little bit sketchy or sleazy. (Slightly different than original X41, this can be inserted into X41 pen garage/silo but PLEASE have it on a tether or else you might never be able to pull it out.)

Off topic:
item 280689067507 : Cross ballpoint + digitiser pen for "Seiko Smart Pad, Cross Pad, Decrio and IBM Transnote", I imagine sixteen USD is a good price for vintage equipment, but I really have no idea how plentiful or scarce these are.

About Art Z II: I love its real paper manual! I took the instruction book, when I found one of these being discarded. It was missing its cable: do you suppose item 161238223488 is a compatible replacement?

I don't think so, as it says it's for Intuos.
