Installing Windows 7 64bit in Lenovo ThinkPad X201

#1 Post by markmeplease » Tue Mar 25, 2014 11:38 pm

Hello folks,

I am installing Windows 7 64bit in my Lenovo ThinkPad X201 type 3680-G78, but when the setup start it ask me to Load Driver: A require CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, Please insert it now.

What does it refers to? I can't proceed in anyway. The HDD has already been reformat due to lost of bitlocker key and wasn't able to backup the SWTOOLS that the manual is referring to.

Kindly guide me, thanks in advanced. Have a good day ahead.

Sounds to me like either the dock (and/or its UB-drive) is not connected properly, or you are using a faulty USB drive.

Also check in the BIOS that SATA is set to AHCI.
