Faulty Video

#1 Post by mr_impossible » Tue May 17, 2005 3:28 pm

I have recently acquired an IBM r32.

The problem I am having is that the screen flashes, and freezes. Sometimes it gets these white waves going across it. I have reinstalled windows, although I am fairly certain it is not a software issue.

I beleive the laptop sustain damage from someone putting too much weight on it. When you use the mouse it seems to make problems worse.

I have connected an external monitor and when the screen freezes, it resets the monitor (screen goes blank then back on).

Does this sound like something I might be able to repair myself? I'm pretty good at repairing Desktops, but laptops are not something I normally deal with.

Thank you,

Art

Hi Art,

Unfortunately, the R32 has a bad system board.
