X220 cable jack replacement

I need to replace the cable jack in my X220. That would be item #8 in this figure. Can some good soul explain to me how I reach the jack? I assume that I need to remove the keyboard. Or do I need to disassemble the screen from the main body? Many thanks in advance.

You need to remove the system board by the look of it as it is attached to the underside of the system board. See p. 83 et seq of the Hardware Maintenance Manual available for download from the following URL:

List as needed to remove:

#keyboard
#battery
#palmrest

Even though it does seem to be attached to the underside of the mainboard, you might be able to pull it out with the mainboard in place.

In either case you don't need to remove the screen.
