I have a couple of batteries that I switch in and out of my laptop on a regular basis, and anyone who has a t60 knows that the battery release is a little finicky in coming out when you try to slide the switch and pull the battery out at the same time.
I had a non oem battery that has ok charge, the release tab broke and figured what the heck.
So what I did was file away the little hook on the inside of the battery that retracts and inserted a little bit of plastic on the outside that pokes out to release the plastic catch on the laptop (which I duct taped into place)
I made a pull tab out of duct tape to pull the battery out and voila!
Even without any 'locks' the battery holds in place pretty tight. It doesn't move at all.
And now the battery removes in less than five seconds with one hand.
