About batteries

#1 Post by diecast » Fri Apr 11, 2014 6:21 pm

Hello,

I'm new to Lenovo world and I recently bought a Lenovo Thinkpad T510 /second hand/.
So far I am very satisfied of my choice. But one thing remains unclear for me. On Lenovo batteries there is a mark something like 27+, 27++, 55+, 55++, 70+, 70++.

What is this mean? I tried to find some more information about it, but I couldn't find anything explain this numbers.

And if I decided to change my battery (currently I use 9cell) which number I have to look at - biggest one, smalles one, single or double pluses?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, and welcome to the forum. :)

The marking is likes this:

The number indicates the battery type. A certain machine needs a specific battery type. Sometimes the same battery type is compatible with multiple machine. For example - your battery is compatible with T410/T510/W510/T420/T520/W520 and L series as well.

The + indicate battery capacity. No pluses mean low capacity (3-4 cell), one + means standard capacity (6-cell) and ++ means extended capacity (8-9 cells).

For example, your 9-cell is XX++. If you want to get a 6-cell battery for your laptop, you need to look for XX+.

Thanks to fast answering on my question. I`ll try to find 6-cell to minimize the weight.

I got another one - if I purchase bluetooth mouse, will it work without the reciever, using the bluetooth module integrated in my laptop?

And one more - when I connect T510 to the mini docking station and use external monitor, mouse and keyboard, will it work with closed lid?

edit. I manage to find a solution with the closing lid when the laptop is docked, but the question with bluetooth mouse still stands.

+ Represents the size of the battery capacity,The more +, the more capacity.
