Invalid Machine Type Error - T30 with Intel 2200BG

#1 Post by yeohkt » Wed May 18, 2005 7:20 am

I've try to install IBM's Access Connection 3.71 and Hotkey on my T30, it shows an error : Invalid Machine Type .

Is it true that Access Connection and Hotkey would check the BIOS for the serial , my T30 does not have the serial because the Motherboard was repalce for warrantly .

Is there anyway to bypass the check or a way to install Access Connection / Hotkey ?

Thanks
I've make Intel 2200BG to work with the 1802 patch .

If IBM replaced the motherboard, they should fix this particular problem. Call them. Don't tell them what to do (ie "give me a new serial number") just ask them to fix the problem that their software won't work in your thinkpad because they serviced it.

Your secret?

Is there a secret to making the 2200b/g card work with a T30?

I will devote tonight to researching the mysterious cord that is attached to my native card (one guess is it's a modem-on-chip) but if you have other suggestions for making it work with the no-1802 hack, let me know please.

Thanks
