X301 screen trouble

#1 Post by mrpaulin_arg » Sun Apr 27, 2014 9:56 am

After writing a bootable pendrive and rebooting, the screen of my X301 is filled with coloured thin vertical lines. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum.
Have you tried booting from a Linux-CD? Stripes?
If you boot from the HD, do you also get these stripes?
If so, either the screen (most likely) or the LED-card is faulty.

Was there Linux Mint somehow involved, either installed on the HDD or on the Pendrive?
If so, your Display EDID might be damaged. It can be repaired.

Thank you for your welcome. I am a Linux user(and yes I was writing a Linux Mint non pae iso) but the screen trouble starts from power on. I reseated all LCD cables and still nothing. I uploaded a pair of images.

I'm afraid you'll need a new screen.
Good luck finding one for a decent price.
