Look at that. If someone is willing to try to fit a B140HAN01 in a T420, I can perhaps furnish you with a screenbroken T420 so you have something to experiment on. I am not against other sorts of compensation either. Add gmail com to my nickname and mail me.

Better screens have been available for quite some time for the T420, for example the X1 Carbon screen. This is a list of all good screens that might fit into the T420: http://www.panelook.com/modelsearch.php ... ton=Search

They are all LVDS screens.

Going from a crappy 1600x900 screen to a slightly better 1600x900 screen is a minor win. But full HD? Only the LG LP140WF1 and AUO B140HAN01 are full HD at 14" and both are eDP. Correct me if I am wrong please. (And the AUO is claimed to be better).

Also, there's the LQ140Z1JW01 at 3200x1800 doubling our pixel density. I do not know whether the B140HAN01 or the LQ140Z1JW01 is the better one. However, 3200x1800 can be too high for the internal adapter. I do not know the bw limits of the LVDS interface.
