Educational Model Purchase Options

Not really the right group of people to ask this question to, but here goes.


I contacted Lenovo about a possible 1 off purchase of the X13?? Rugged Student Laptop, about 2 months ago.

Had a few simple requests. Could I request a discount, about equal to the bulk discounts school systems get for bulk purchases. Would it be possible to mirror an existing OS/Disto currently in use at the school. Pretty straight forward I thought. To date no answers.

Background:
School has deployed over 500 Samsungs with a 20% failure rate.
Child is LD, (Learning Disability) Has 501 and IEP. Meetings with staff are at least every other month
Parents are more than happy to recommend a product that works (ie rugged Lenovo)
Parents are paying for unit out of their pocket, just looking for any discounts that may apply
Parents have contacted Red Hat about a School Specific OS (they had no immediate problems, needed hardware specs)

Problem with Lenovo was NOT an answer of no, the problem was NO ANSWER AT ALL

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get a few answers?
