X200s hinge opens 135°

#1 Post by Nickolai » Sat May 24, 2014 5:21 am

I've bought me a used X200s with 1440*900 screen. Surprisingly enough, its screen only opens about 135°, not full 180° as I am used to.

My previous X60s, X200 and seemingly every other ThinkPad I saw in advertising and in stores opened 180°. I assumed every ThinkPad should, so I didn't think to check when buying. Is this a defect, a trade-off of this particular model "1440*900 or X200s specifically" , or some customization?

How bizarre, mine had the 1400*900 screen and definitely opened the full 180. A little beyond that in fact.

As I already mentioned elsewhere, check for bent/warped/incorrect fitting of LCD bezel and keyboard bezel around the bottom edge of the lid.
