06811 Error Please Help
06811 Error Please Help
I have been looking everywhere to try to fix this error I heard its a motherBoard Error but I dont know it seems Every time it gets hot the error does it and i have to turn it off for 12 hours or so then it will work again is there any patch out there or anyu directions that someone can give me so it will not do that please help out my aim is PBGUNZ35 Thanks

Your keyboard needs to be replaced.

Yeah that's what i said
reseat the keyboard plugs befor you buy another keyboard, make sure they are clean.
but I am sure there's a way to do it from the BIOS hex editor. I remember my track point would only move sideways.

I don't think so, I haven't seen anything that allows you to disable the trackpointYou can try diabling the track point in IBM setup -- hold F1 while booting. Another idea -- try an external keyboard and see if that helps. IIRC the computer will default to an external KB if one is present... but I could be wrong there.

Starting at the following link, enter the information for your ThinkPad, then you can get to a page for downloading the Hardware Maintenance Manual for your laptop. In there, you will find the part number for anything you need to replace. Search ebay.com pricegrabber.com or google.com just by typing in the part number in the search box. You should be able to find what you need at a good price.
