Cammand-tab no1802.com no1802 iso disk not booting. Wireless

I have written the CD ISO to a compact disk using "writie image to disk" function on ImgBurn.
I set the boot order in the BIOS to start with the CDRW drive.
the 'no1802' does not run.
I have tried 2 disks and the 1802 error is still there.
Method:
-set boot order to CDRW first
-leave old card in and boot
-install new card
-boot normal order
-1802 error

If I try the no1802.com method Does this sound correct?
-Write DOS boot CD
-Write no1802.com CD
-boot from DOS CD
-Remove DOS CD after seeing prompt
-install no1802.com CD
-Run no1802.com
-Startup
-shutdown
-install card

I checked the no1802 bootable disk in Virtual box - it works.
What could cause the cd to be skipped during boot?
It begins spinning and is being read for a few seconds, but then Windows starts up.

One possible explanation is that the BIOS has been set to boot from the hard drive before looking at the optical drive. You could either get into the BIOS and change the boot order, or the fastest way, press the F12 key when the system is turned on to access the Boot Menu. From there you can select the optical drive and it should read the disk.

rkawakami,
I Set the order in BIOS for the CDRW drive to be first each time I try. I have also used F12 on more than a few attempts in addition to the BIOS settings.
I should mention that the laptop was dropped and was a precursor to this patch having to be installed again. The impact resulted in some error that would occasionally showed up and I reset the BIOS to default completely forgetting that i had a patch in there.-- DOH!
I am formatting a flashdrive now to try to boot from that.

I just tried the IBM Recovery disks... it wont boot from those either.
It tries and makes noises, but then Windows joins in.
Seems like the thread name is was poorly chosen, at this point.

Any T4x machine (whether dropped or not) may well have a loose Southbridge chip (big Intel chip under the wifi card).
Remove the wifi-card (should be done already) and put some pressure on that intel chip.
Try to boot.
If it now works, go find another motherboard, since that problem is only fixable by (practically unavailable) reballing.

RBS - I am not noticing a change when I press on the chip.
http://rufus.akeo.ie/
I have used Rufus to create a bootable USB drive and it has been detected and booted from.... However,
The no-1802.iso (http://www.command-tab.com/2006/02/26/t ... error-fix/) that was used by RUFUS boots and enters the LINUX setup (ie.. isolinux, INSERT, ultimate boot cd, live linux) and cant find the INSERT file system.
then enters into a limited shell.

Make a DOS-bootable USB stick with Rufus, then copy NO1802.COM onto it.
Boot from USB into DOS, then run NO1802.
Done!

Re: Cammand-tab no1802.com no1802 iso disk not booting. Wire
that worked.
Thanks
And... to conclude this mess: the cdrw/dvd drive was not being recognized by the comp. I reinstalled it numerous times and restored windows using Recovery. The drive is now working again and I think its due to a few forceful and well timed re-installments.
Thank you again!
