T43 AC Adaptor Dead?

I've a spare original t43 AC adapter laying around, I want to use it again but does not power up/charge the battery when plugged it in my t43. Tried is with the main adapter and my T43 is able to power up/charge the battery.

I think it's dead but what are the chances of that?

The AC adapter build quality is good and my impression it should last even longer then t43 notebook itself, moreover I've not drop it even once.

I've seen quite a few adapters die with no apparent reason...so yes, it's quite possible that yours has passed away as well...

OMG now my main ac adapter is also dead! I tried to switch the ac cable between the main and spare ac adapter with the ac cable plug still connected to the electrical extension.

Does this cause the adapters to die?

I think the spare ac cable somehow killed the adapter coz after I switched my main adapter to the spare ac cable, it does not work anymore and this is probably the case for my spare adapter as well.

Now I'll have to do this. Anyone try it before?

got a replacement ac adapter and was working fine for about 1 month and suddenly my t43 does not charge anymore and unable to power up my t43 without the battery, also felt there's electric shock around the corner of the lcd screen

is this the problem cause by my new adapter or there are some problem with my t43 mainboard?

what kind of adapter did you buy? A legit Thinkpad part or a third party knock-off?
