SOLD - Any interest in a T61p 5/2008, 14.1" (4:3)?
A while ago I packed up a T61p that no one in my family was using, but never got around to selling it. I wonder if anyone's interested here. It's a 4:3, 14-inch model with a T8100 CPU (2.1GHz), model 8891, date code "08/05/19" (May 19, 2008??).
Revised description
The original parts list is here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/8g6p694qemszw ... -Parts.pdf
It's been upgraded with a 320GB hard disk, 4GB RAM, and a (if I remember correctly) an Intel 802.11n card to replace the original ThinkPad card. The keyboard is new, straight of the box. The battery was in excellent shape when I last used it.
It's in excellent condition, with the usual minor scraps and scuffs that are visible only in some angles. It's in the original box and packing materials, with the original XP preload restored, so it will start up like a machine bought out of the box. All stickers removed except the serial number with the date code and the MAC address stickers.
It was only used indoors and in a dock. I bought it from the Lenovo Outlet; it was one of those CTR models that looked new.
EDIT: Apologies for forgetting the rule about the price: $200, includes shipping, but will ship to 48-state US only, UPS ground. I'll post some photos later. So this is just a preliminary notice to see if there's any interest - and obviously there is.
IMPORTANT: Note that the date code is MAY 2008; I mistyped a date earlier!!

I might be interested depending on the price. Is the battery any good? Is the XP load up to date or will it need a million updates?
X200T, X201T, R400, T400, T500, M93P Tiny

Added a price. Also fixed a typo about the date code (I had contradictory information in the original post): It's MAY 2008.
Don't know about the battery. It was very good when I packed it up a few months ago. Original XP preload; will need at least a hundred updates, but you can find an unofficial SP4 with a bit of a web search; it packs up all the post SP3 updates into a single installer.

Just offering a bit of info here, the 6 digit date code indicates a refurb unit which is confirmed by the "CTR" (Configure To order Refurbished). The only significance here is that the date doesn't represent the date of manufacture, but it's really a moot point in this case, but thought I would share what I know.
Good Luck with your sale

That's useful information about the date of CTR models. Thanks. I mentioned in my first post that it was a CTR model described as refurbished, but looked brand new when it arrived. Of course it's a bit scuffed now...TuuS wrote:Just offering a bit of info here, the 6 digit date code indicates a refurb unit which is confirmed by the "CTR" (Configure To order Refurbished). Almost every ThinkPad I've ever owned has been a "refurbished" model from the Outlet. Every one of them looked brand new. On the other hand, my son bought a Lenovo monitor from the Outlet, labeled Refurbished, and it had a small scratch on the screen...

Sold for the asking price to a forum member whom I was very glad to meet. This forum really is a terrific place to get to know knowledgeable and friendly people.

Definitely a great deal on an awesome laptop. I also fully agree about this forum, it's a great online community for thinkpad fans.
