Replace wacom digitizer unit:(

#1 Post by k4ck » Wed Jun 25, 2014 1:10 pm

Hello my X200T digitizer unit is damaged.

Failure is shown on the picture:

The pen is not detected in the last 5cm on the right side of the display
I couldnt find any way to repair the wacom digitizer unit on that display.

I also have this display here which has a defect:

When i plug in the display into my X200T display connector and digitizer unit connector, i can see the picture on the LCD but the pen is not working, it seems like, the digitizer is not even working.

1. Is there a way to repair my X200T digitizer unit?
2. Does the other digitizer not support my X200T? / wrong connector? / wrong chip software?
3. Is there a way to mount the digitizer to my faulty X200T?

I just want to get my digitizer working again :( Would be nice if someone could help me

Thanks :(

For your current digitizer - did you tried recalibrating it?
For other digitizer. I see it is with finger touch. Does fingertouch works? Is this digitizer differs from your current (stilus only | resistive fingertouch | capacitive fingertouch (multitouch) )? Did you reinstalled drivers for other digitizer? What devices shown in windows device manager when you connect other digitizer?

When i was moving from fingertouch to stilus only and vice versa on my X61t all drivers works ok with stilus, but finertouch part needs multitouch driver pack to work.

Hello thanks for your help.

Now i tried to put my orignal digitizer onto the 110 lcd panel and the 120 digtizer to the 110 panel. So i switched them around.

Here i am running the other digitizer with MT on my 120 panel.

I installed the Multitouch driver from lenovo and i also tried the wacom feel it driver.

The device manager looks like normal.

I also tried to install ubuntu, no detection
on windows, no detected
I do not understand why is the digitizer not working?
I have no more ideas what the problem could be, actually i think that the problem must be the systemboard or the digitizer cable.

Any ideas?
EDIT:

The problem is the micro processor card, without it attached the digitizer is working!!
Could someone measure the fuses F2 and F3 on the microprocessor card?

Another Question:
My original digitizer is working with both the HV121WX4 - 110 and also the 120 version.
Why is the other digitizer not working on the 120 for example?
Is the digitizer bound to the motherboard or what? Does it have something to do with the digitizer board itself?

Sorry for delay :(

But you already find the truth ;)

I have no X200T to measure fuses. But i think all soldered fuses must be "conductors"... i dont know how to measure max current for fuse without blowing it up ;)

PS
Strange thing. Your old digitizer with old LCD worked with this MPB but have issues, but new one don't work at all.

On the reverse of the panel have you tried transpalting the

controller unit and the silver backign that covers the entire back of the panel to detect touch ?

its just stuck on with double sided tape.

You meant the metal frame around the LCD, where the CCFL bulb is in?, should that frame also be transplented?

I thought that the glas that is connected to the wacom pcb is handling the touch.
