Price and Performance difference: 1.1 ULV or 1.4 LV?

I need some help in deciding

I'm trying to balance battery life, performance, and cost

Models with the 1.1 Ghz seems to be significantly cheaper--the battery life, I heard, is only negligibly better though. But what about performance? Does anyone know if 0.3 Ghz will matter much?

Do you suggest I go for the 1.4 or the 1.1?

I would definitely recommend the 1.4 The difference, believe or not, is quite significant, especially from 1.1 to 1.2 (33% faster). Just imagine how much faster the 1.4 would be.

For what it is worth, I have had both the 1.1 and 1.2 X40...I noticed no difference in performance between the two for office apps, web browsing, playind DVD's and other general stuff. It might be there but wasn't at all noticeable to me. For that matter, I really don't notice the X40 being noticeably slower then my T41p with a 1.6 in it...again I know it has to be slower but I don't notice it at all for what I do.

I am sure P-M 1.1 GHz is not for 33% slower than 1.2 GHz if the architecture is preserved.
