screw kit for X24 $63.. !!!!!???? *UPDATE*

#1 Post by daeojkim » Sat May 21, 2005 12:18 am

Ok so there is a screw missing for keyboard for the X24. I think that is causing all the rattling. I looked up the X24 screw kit and got the FRU 46P2595 and it costs $63... Is this how much it costs? I just one M2 x 7 mm screw and I am not going to pay $63 for it.

Does anyone know where I could get a screw of same size? Could I get one from a hardware store?

Or if anyone has one laying around I will pay $1 plus shipping for the screw.

Thanks. :)

Is it still under warranty James? Call IBM and they'll send you a screw kit free.

Just tell them a screw fell out of the bottom of your X24.

BTW, you can get equivalents at a good hardware store that has metric stuff, they don't match, but they do the job, I've got a couple in the bottom of my 560x.

WOW.

So I called IBM on Saturday to ask for a screw kit. Then I was told I should receive it on Tuesday. Then when I was about to leave for work this Monday morning, someone knocks on my door. UPS guy... package from IBM.
Talk about fast service!!!!! Is this the best service or what!!!

BTW there are like few hundred screws in that package. It's like lifetime supply of screws for a Thinkpad.

Next time you should say your thinkpad fell up from the screw and you have the screw. Maybe they will send you thinkpad kit with few hundreds of thinkpads
Let's go'n'restart :-)
