just ordered a T41p & minidock

first, i only want to let you know that this forum ist simply great and very helpfull. bravo and thanks for it.

second, sorry for my bad english, reading is not a problem, but i have problems with writing... (i'm sure i making a lot of errors). i'm from switzerland, i speaking german and french.

so, last week i just ordered a thinkpad T41p and a minidock. i think that for me it was the right way to go. before i had a clevo d500p (sager), but the fan was terrible, it was too lood for me.

i did not go for a T42p (14.1) because for the same price i could order a minidock. and the the only things that change from the T41p is the dothan 1.8 mhz and it do not comme with bluetooth.

the T42p (15.1) would be great for me, but it's simple to expensive for me.

so, i'm now waiting.... hope that it would comme soon as possible, (the delivery time is 3-4 weeks), would be a long time for me...

actually I do not have any problem, at this time I only used the USB and the sound. I found that it's a great docking station the only thing that I miss is that it would not have a firewire port.

nice to hear that the machine suits your needs and that you're comfortable with it, because i'll get exactly the same machine tomorow.

just can't stand waiting for it, it's such a lovely machine

even if i had the choice between a T42 and a T41, i think i'd have gone for the T41. i just don't need the extra 100 MHz, and the few extra minutes of battery life aren't a very big deal, especially when you've got the 9cell battery.

i'm sure this baby will attract attention in my class

yo, just got the baby, and altough i have the keyboard flex on the lower right corner (which i will fix tomorow, i think), i'm still impressed by this baby. the keyboard is amazing, just love it, and everything else also is perfectly the way i like it

(okay, the palmrest does creak occasionally, but no way like the other laptops which i looked at)

i think my desktop pc now has to act as fileserver and TV streamer, my main machine will be the t41p
