T60 -> T440 and touchpad driver

Hi everyone here. As you can read in this thread http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... 28#p738128

for my birthday i got a T440 to replace my 8 year old T60 (yes, purely steam driven, fast and reliable, but heavy and with limited battery time.......... )

So far I am pretty pleased with the T440, but the touchpad seemed very strange compared to the excellent one on the T60's. Very difficult to navigate precisely, and especially the right-click seemed very unpredictable.
In other forums I have read about a lot of discontent with this, so I thought to try and update the driver installed - it was from december 2013. But running the driver update in Windows only resulted in the well known message that the driver is up to date - despite the fact that on Lenovos support site there is a much newer driver (version 18.0.7.40 dated 07-04-2014).

With this driver installed, the touchpad is working much better
